Propulsion System

ANAFI USA's propeller blades draw inspiration from the knobs found on the leading edge of humpback whale's pectoral fins, employing biomimicry in their design. Each propeller is composed of two blades and can be easily attached by screwing them on. In terms of flight performance, ANAFI USA surpasses drones that are 1.5 times heavier and twice as bulky, offering superior maneuverability and agility.

Parrot ANAFI Propulsion System

ANAFI USA incorporates a blade design that focuses on minimizing the transitory separation of the boundary layer for each blade, serving two primary purposes. Firstly, it allows for the recovery of thrust while maintaining a constant motor rotation speed (rpm), or alternatively, enables the drone to sustain thrust while reducing the motor speed. Secondly, it helps reduce the impact of blade twisting on the increase in mechanical power. As a result of this design, ANAFI USA effectively emulates a rotor system that generates power surpassing the theoretical capacity of its diameter, achieved by operating at lower rotation speeds with higher engine torque.

Furthermore, the leading edge of the blade is designed to minimize the tonal sound power, resulting in a reduction in flight noise. ANAFI USA features powerful motors, rated at 46 W, with a 70% efficiency (mechanical power divided by electrical power) during hovering. The overall characteristics of the blades are optimized to deliver optimal performance throughout the entire flight range.

ANAFI USA boasts the industry's best weight-to-flight time ratio, offering an impressive 32 minutes of flight time. With its lightweight design (500 g) and efficient conversion chain, the drone can fly swiftly, reaching speeds of up to 54 km/h, and cover considerable distances, with a theoretical outreach of 17.4 km at 40.6 km/h. It exhibits wind resistance up to 54 km/h and produces a sound power level of 84 dB at a distance of 1 meter (3 feet).
